Grant Denyer Hosts 'Carols in the Domain' 2008

Written on the 15th of December 2008

Monday, December 15: Grant Denyer will return to TV for the first time following his lifethreatening accident to co-host Woolworths’ Carols in the Domain.

With co-host Kate Ritchie by his side for the second year, Grant says he is guaranteed to have a fun and festive night.

“I have always had the Carols in the Domain gig firmly in my sights as a goal for returning to work since I began my recovery process,” says Grant.

“They'd have to strap me to a rocket bound for the moon to stop me being part of this very special event. I've been flat on my back for three months now and can't imagine a better stage to walk onto.”

The event celebrates its 26th year with the biggest line-up of Australia's top voices, including first-time carolers Hugh Sheridan (Packed to the Rafters) and Charli Delaney (Dancing with the Stars and Battle of the Choirs) joining the impressive line-up of Delta Goodrem, Shannon Noll, Guy Sebastian, Brian McFadden, Paulini, David Hobson, Deni Hines, Christine Anu, Amelia Farrugia, Melinda Schneider and The Wiggles.

“There are very talented performers in this show and it’s an honour to share the stage with them,” says Hugh, who is best-known as the fun-loving Ben Rafter from the hit show Packed to the Rafters. “To be a part of the carols is something really special for me.”

The free concert is broadcast live on Channel 7 across the country on Saturday, December 20 at 8.30pm from Sydney’s Domain.

Woolworths’ Carols in the Domain brings Australians together to celebrate the songs and spirit of Christmas. It also provides crucial support to The OASIS Youth Support Network, The Salvation Army’s response to youth homelessness.

Woolworths’ Carols in the Domain is proudly presented by MLC and Telstra.
