farmer dave graham.

Reality TV star, entrepreneur, dog trainer and farmer. Farmer Dave Graham has seized the many opportunities that have come his way. But life started well before Farmer Dave joined the Australian “Big Brother” house in 2006.

Dave is the youngest of four siblings, with three older sisters, growing up on a farm near Goondiwindi, South West of Queensland (380 km's from Brisbane). As a teenager, Dave didn’t enjoy hitting the schoolbooks. His love of the farm over ruled his studies and he soon found himself working on his father's various farms, jackerooing for a few years.

Not one to sit still for too long though, Dave took a trip to Sydney, where he was discovered as a young model and was sent off on a 6 month stint across Europe walking the catwalks in Paris, Milan, Florence and many amazing cities. He then spent the next 12 months of his life touching down in over 46 countries.

It was 2006 and Dave found himself amongst 22 other “Big Brother” housemates, after auditioning simply because he missed the flight back home. He became an overnight role model for gay men in rural Australia when he outed himself on national television. He came third in the series, facing a screaming 2000 something crowd and a nice little prize package including, as Dave describes it "the world's gayest car" (A Fiat Punto).

During his time on “Big Brother” unknown to Farmer Dave his own farm had plunged further and further in to drought with massive losses. He spent six months trying to save his farm, before the producers from Seven’s “Dancing with the Stars” invited him on the show as a contestant in 2007. He had two left feet, even scoring the lowest possible vote ever on “Dancing with the Stars”, but the public continued to support him and Farmer Dave remained on the program until episode seven.

He then launched his own company “Farmer Dave Free Range Lamb”. The venture involved sustainable family farmers from Western Queensland who produce lean Free Range Lamb free of antibiotics, growth promotants and unnecessary chemicals. He spent two years on this project, opened a store on the Gold Coast, and turned it into a million dollar business before selling it to family.

In 2008 Farmer Dave found himself volunteering at a Doggy day care centre in Yarraville, Melbourne. Being an experienced animal handler, Farmer Dave then started a new division in dog training. He was even asked to showcase his dog handling skills in demonstrations at the 2009 “World Dog Games”. This has led to Farmer Dave’s new business “Farmer Dave Dog Training” providing consultations one on one in the family home, currently based in Sydney.

He also made guest appearances on Network Ten’s “9AM with David & Kim”, Seven Network’s “The Morning Show”, and was a guest judge on Fox 8’ “The Singing Office”.
