Jessica Rowe AM has joined the cast of Seven Network's new primetime event series The Real Dirty Dancing.

Jess joins TV presenter Jamie Durie, actor Hugh Sheridan, comedian Anne Edmonds, former Olympic Swimmer Stephanie Rice, actor Firass Diranu, AFL commentator Jude Bolton and media personality Anna Heinrich. They will travel to the USA to learn the dancing routines and film at Mountain Lake Lodge, the location made famous by the iconic 1987 musical romance film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The cast will be taught the film's choreography by Todd McKenney and Kym Johnson.

"I literally leapt in the air at the chance to be a part of The Real Dirty Dancing despite being unaware of who my other cast members will be!! I adored the movie, adore Todd McKenney, and just like ‘Baby’ - no one can put me in the corner," said Jess.

Filming in the USA commences shortly, leading to a final theatre performance filmed in Australia where all cast members will take to the stage to recreate the dance sequences from the film.

The Real Dirty Dancing airs on the Seven Network soon.
