Channel Seven’s new reality dance series The Real Dirty Dancing is set to premiere on Monday 30th September at 7:30PM AEDT.

Jessica Rowe AM joins a cast of popular Australian personalities including Jamie Durie, Anna Heinrich, Hugh Sheridan, Anne Edmonds, Jude Bolton, Stephanie Rice and Firass Dirani as the travel to Mountain Lake Lodge in Virginia, USA to learn the iconic dances moves from the much loved 1987 romantic drama. One couple will make it through to become Baby and Johnny and perform the film’s iconic dance number before a live audience at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney Australia.

"We had such a ball doing this show," Jessica tells

"It's essentially a tribute to the movie, which is such an iconic film. And this series pays tribute to the love story, the music, and Patrick Swayze."

"I found it very confronting, and I didn't expect that would happen," Rowe said.

"I'm a mum, I'm married, I've got two young girls - and when you're responsible you think you have to be a particular way.

"So for me to shed my inhibitions and shed my gear was hard - but I wanted to do this properly.

"You're so tied up in caring for everyone else that you do lose yourself - and I hadn't expected to be confronted with that when I signed up to do the show.

"Even though I did find it emotional and difficult, I'm glad I learned that about myself - and I think especially for mums, we need to remember that we are a woman inside of all of that."
