Boozier than Oktoberfest, more drive than a Volkswagen and more sausage than a bratwurst convention - Hans is Germany’s proudest export.

An international superstar, sex symbol, accordionist and Berlin boy-wonder, Hans has been thrilling audiences around the globe with his own fabulous brand of critically acclaimed cabaret for over a decade, performing for everyone from Prime Ministers to Princesses, paupers and paper boys.

In 2018 this wonder boy from Berlin won the hearts of 16 million Americans with his cheeky and electrifying song and dance routines on NBC’s juggernaut TV series, America’s Got Talent. Hans was much loved amongst judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and host Tyra Banks. As Hans put it, “Darlings, I went there to make America glitter again. It was calling and I answered!”

Upon his return to Australia - his ‘adopted’ home country - in 2019, Hans brought “Hans: Like a German” to the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival to sell out crowds and 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show has received widespread praise from audiences and critics alike, and won Best Cabaret at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival Awards.

Hans left me buzzing with a high like I've never experienced before. He had a fierce tenacity that brought the heat to the stage with his killer vocals, quick laps around the round stage, and effortless skills around engaging audience members from every corner of the room,” — ★★★★★ Weekend Notes.

A Hans show is always a feet stomping, hand clapping and side splitting adventure. It’s fast paced, go-go-go, and that’s what makes it brilliant,” — ★★★★★ Hi-Fi Way.

Hans continues to blaze his way onto Aussie TV screens in 2019, including an electrifying medley of Eurovision songs on SBS TV’s Eurovision: Australia Decides Live, Seven Network’s Good Friday Appeal and Network Ten’s Celebrity Name Game.

Hans’ earlier productions, Viva Hans Vegas (2016), Mein Camp (2017) and If You Don’t Love Me…Leave! (2018) have all been praised by audiences and critics. Hans was named “Pick Of The Fringe” at the Adelaide Fringe awards in 2018 and won “Best Cabaret” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017.

Hans is the creation of Adelaide born Matt Gilbertson, himself an accomplished journalist who has worked in print, radio and television.
